If you also have carbon fiber splitter wickers (a.k.a. spats) there is a lot of finesse required to fit all three parts, the wicker, end plate, and splitter so everything is installed flush. This is due to the carbon fiber splitter wicker not having as much compliance as the factory plastic wicker and is normal.
